Best Western Doswell Hotel

This is an updated and clean place to stay. Dogs are permitted but my room smelled perfect when I entered. Staff were very kind and thoughtful and the free breakfast was plentiful with scrambled eggs, sausages, takeaway treats like yogurt and apples. The only drawback was the shower's control fixture which had not been installed with a thick enough escutcheon between the tile and the back of the fixture. The fixture therefore tended to pull away from the wall, allowing water to pass into the wall and stressing the metal water supply lines (yes, I'm a handyman homeowner!). We suggested to management that this should be corrected and the assured us it would! We intend to return here again due to a favors le review and hope to find this one star item resolved.

If you're visiting Kings Dominion, this is the perfect place to stay. It's very clean, it's super close to the park, and it's reasonably priced. The beds are comfortable, they offer a nice breakfast until 930 in the mornings. Breakfast includes eggs, sausage, waffles, bagels, muffins, cereal, and oat meal. Toiletries are full size bottles mounted to the walls in the bathroom of the rooms. Rooms include desk area, TV, microwave and minifridge. Coffee is available in the lobby at all times and small, single serve coffee maker is supplied in the room.

This was our first time at a Best Western, but it was right off i95, we were tired from a long road trip, and we were able to walk in and get a room immediately. Location was great, late night and morning staff were friendly and accommodating, and the room was clean. Breakfast was included and was okay. Overall, this hotel is fine ... but I think a few more healthy options for breakfast would be great, and a small update with some fresh paint would be beneficial.

Hotel Review: Best Western Doswell VA – Kings Dominion (June 16–19, 2025) Our family stayed at the Best Western near Kings Dominion from June 16 to 19, booking three rooms and bringing our pets along. Overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable stay, especially for the kids who had a great time in the pool. The hotel doesn’t offer a shuttle to the park, but it’s within a decent walking distance, which worked out fine for us. The breakfast was hit-or-miss—while the eggs were wet and the sausage was dry, the waffles were a definite highlight. What really stood out was the night shift front desk lady—she was amazing! Super helpful, kind, and made me feel right at home. The day shift front desk staff took a little warming up to, but ultimately, everyone was polite and accommodating. The housekeeping staff weren’t particularly friendly, but they didn’t disturb us and got the job done. If you’re visiting Kings Dominion and looking for a pet-friendly place that’s convenient and family-friendly, this hotel is a solid choice.

Stayed here on our way back North from Florida. Conveniently located off Interstate 95. Recently renovated. Room was very nice and comfortable. I would stay again if in the area.

The room was clean. Beds where clean. No major issues. We were late arriving as our 8 hr drive turned into a 12 hr drive due to traffic. We where very late to our arrival. We didn't physically get there until 2 AM the next day. Though we where still charged full price for the room. Now I know we reserved the room and its a business, but the hotel was dead. There where maybe 10 other rooms being used out of the 100 plus rooms they have. We didn't reserve a special room and there was no special amenities. So I feel they could of not have charged us for the room that we're not in because we where stuck on the highway miles away. Said there was a breakfast in the morning 6am to 9 am. I went downnstairs to get breakfast and there was coffe and some fruit on a rack and someone was sleeping in the room that the "breakfast was being served in". So yeah not breakfast. Vending machine is on the first floor and offers very little, and was very warm. The location was close to the park and a 711 and BK, but other then that, if you dont know the area, there isn't much. Also the hotel is right next to a train track. We arrived a 2AM and just as we got into the room and train went by Nd it sounded like it was driving through the lobby. Not a big deal during the day, but at nights would suck if you where asleep.

Clean rooms, friendly staff. Breakfast is simple but yet has many options for all. Small outdoor pool but not crowded and well kept. There is a 7 eleven and a Burger King that’s a 2-3 minute walk from the hotel. Kings Dominion is extremely close but will need about 20 minutes to walk from hotel through the HUGE parking lot to the gates so we ended up taking the car ($35 parking).

Clean room. Could be better but the price was great for under 100 on weekend. Plus there's a tesla charger out back. Just one but I was able to snag it.
